Where to buy the cheapest Taiwanese souvenir products in Taipei? Master Chung at Raohe Night Market is the place to go. From pineapple cakes, delicious mochi up to unique seaweed snacks. Name it and they have it.
The shop is open from Monday to Sunday from 16:00 to 24:00. How to go to Master Chung? Just board any local train of the TRA to Songshan Station or ride the Taipei MRT Green Line to Songshan Station. Both train stations are connected to each other so either going by TRA or MRT will lead you to the same place, Raohe Night Market.

I went here with Travel Buddy Victor and Angeli. They are the first-ever Filipino husband and wife tandem in the luomujie blog. After our trip in Jiufen, we boarded a train from Ruifang Station to get to Songshan Station. It was their first time to go to Raohe and the couple was excited to try the foods here.
Typical among night markets in Taiwan are the pineapple cakes and other local delicacies that are worth bringing in your home country. Tourists love to buy them and one box usually cost NTD 100. But did you know that you can get them for only NTD 62.50?
Buy 8 for NTD 500. It's the best deal that you will get for any souvenir cakes.
There is also a Buy 7 for NTD 500. Honestly, I was really surprised by the low prices of Master Chung. How come they can offer such a good deal?

I asked the store assistant who spoke good English. She explained to me and my Travel Buddies on how come they can slash their prices. Compared to small retailers, who pay a large amount just to get a space at the underground malls of Taipei Main Station, they have a lower rent making it easy for them to compete by lowering their prices.

Having been to Jiufen before going to Raohe Night Market, it was easy to verify if the prices of Master Chung are cheaper compared to the land of Spirited Away. Looking at the table below, the price difference is so obvious!
